Default Do you know this cat?

Believe it or not, it was spotted on Lewisville Lake (stock tank) just north of Dallas this weekend. I'm not Cat expert but I can't even figure out what kind of boat it is. It doesn't have the lines of any cat I've ever seen

The power is kind of obvious.

It's the old Ohio Steel/Recovery 46 Skater....Peter's first effort at a custom deck. The boat was originally commissioned by Stu Hayim as an Open/Super Class boat in the mid to late 90's........
He sold it almost immediately after seeing how ugly it was.

John Rebhan (Ohio Steel) bought it...and kept it for a few years. He tended to own a lot of boats and race occasionally.... (He had other Skaters, Fountains and a CUV as well).

The boat obviously has Turbines in it now.

The boat's OK, but Lake Lewisville is somewhat crowded and relatively small.

It's not that crowded just yet but it is kind of small for a boat like that (< 30k acres). Unless he's just heading out to the Cove for the festivities like a lot do.

It certainly isn't something that's the norm for Lewisville though. He's class'n up the joint!

I live about 10 minutes away but it's been 3-4 years since we've put the boat in there. It was small and didn't really have great places to anchor. I keep saying we need to get the boat out over there if the ramps get safe again. We have a few people we know that boat there.

yeah thats the only complaint about Grapevine, it feels tiny compaired to Cedar Creek where i used to boat but ended up selling the place there since it was a longer haul to be able to use frequently like Grapevine offers.

I heard a little more about the boat, second hand so you know......

Supposedly the guy has 1.5 in it and so far has had it up to 175 MPH with 80% throttle. He was just out taking it easy Saturday and ended up anchored at the cove. I guess taking it easy is the only option for a boat like that. LOL

You couldn't get that boat aired out good before having to shut down on Lewisville. That's if some DA on a PWC didn't cut in front of you or try to run up next to you....
