Double mesh Flame Arrestors
who is using high flow flame aresstors with double mesh as compared to the coast guard approved with triple. Are they still safe. The only arrestor I found that I like and fits my 1050 doms is a double mesh.

Re: Double mesh Flame Arrestors
I would do your homework on this one! There is a reason the Coast Guard approved ones have all those layers of screen in them. They do not put extra layers in there just for the heck of it. I bet I know what your insurance company would do if you had a fire and they found out it was not an effective flame arrestor.
Talk to some engine builders, I see alot of large HP engines running the multi-layer screen arrestors. If there is some loss because of it I don't think it would be enough to take the risk with the insurance company, let alone the chance of dangering yourself or passengers.
