drive oil keeps coming out of oil reservoir by cap when rpm goes over 3000, on a 94 baja outlaw I sold. Got the drive tested today and holds 12 pounds all day long. no water in oil. Merc dealer says 2 options: too much vibration on engine should relocate tank, or change the cap. There is a small vent hole on it, but I can't see why it would make suck a mess in such a small hole... What do you think is my solution or problem ?

Sometimes, changing the reservoir cap may fix the problem. It did happen to GLH on His Cafe Racer. We swaped the caps and the problem switched to the other reservoir
Also, You should NOT keep the oil at the FULL level mark in the bottle. I keep mine just over ADD mark. The level will fluctuate while driving the boat and it's normal.
Is the oil foamy? colored? Smelly?
Also, a damaged and overheating drive may cause a constant oil spill from the reservoir...

make sure you didnt blow a seal and fill the drive with water which can float the oil out via the res.

Same thing happened when I switched to new drives a few years ago. It ended up being a bad cap. The Bravo drive runs under pressure. If the cap is not tight or the orange rubber flap in the cap is damaged or missing it will foam all over the place. Hopefully it is that easy.

Thats why I put a turbosonic cap on my resivour. I would get fluid all over the place when running and hitting waves... swapped caps and no more issue.
