Posted by DJDRE: PTF Nasty Class.
I was close to striking a deal with General Propultion to buy one of their boats. Logistics got the better of me. Storage, carpenters with the skills to work on them and the biggest prob was finding the people out here to work on the Deltic engines. Gen. Propultion kept sweetening the deal but I finally backed out. They were all in Great Bridge VA & they had just been moved to a marina. I had seen them for over 18 years, sitting on the banks of the ICW just north of the new marina.
WAY COOL!!
Too bad it didn't work out. That would make one hell of a bay runner.

Those Deltic diesels are the wildest engines I've read about. 18 cylinders, three crank shafts, and aluminum blocks. I bet they had a sweet sound.
If I remember it right, they started out as locomotive engines.
Too cool.

I can't remember his name, but he was or is on OSO. We did some business and he treated me fairly. For a clue you could search Coyote boat threads on OSO. I think he is the same guy (or his buddy) that restored the old Beep Beep Coyote raceboat. It was then sold and unfortunately the last buyer had a serious fire.

Hope this helps. Barry

Every now and then I see a Konrad equiped boat on the auctions. They are the usually the 520's behind diesels. What are the diferences between the 520 and 540?

board member (Shifter) AKA pat from wiesman may know, they deal with the military to and may know who to contact. Then again he may want a piece of the pie as refrubishing them.
