Try Yard Arm. I don't know if they have a-frames but they make great boat dollies. Let me know if you find any good deals...I'm looking also.

I got one built that is bolted together so I can tear it apart, move it where ever needed, and put it back together in 10 minutes, as long you are at least to strong guy to lift it up on his legs once assembled on the ground. I use it to lift boats from trailer, cost was roughly 1000$ with 2 dolley and 2 chain blocks

they also have a ebay store. going to pay big $$ for electric. if i were you , find someone in your area and have them fabricate one , all you need is 3x3 box tubing,a piece of steel i beam, and some plate..

I am going to make my own A frame. Last night I bought all the steel needed to build it- also picked up 4----six inch. tall wheels to weld to the frame. I STILL NEED AN ELECTRIC HOIST THAT WILL TROLLEY ON THE I-BEAM. ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A SMOKIN DEAL ON THE HOIST. HAVIN A BLAST. POOLSHRK

I bought one of these, but still haven't used it yet. Using the pulley, it's rated for 1320lbs. That's plenty for a fully dressed BBC. http://www.mercurymarine.com/496_mag...ut_sd_-_425_hp shows the whole setup including the outdrive and transom assembly weighs 1199, so the motor alone should be well within the limits of the hoist.
