Mike, for the type of engines you are looking at you probably will not find answers on this site because 99% of everyone here is running big block V 8's with Bravo's or #6 drives. Not to promote another website on OSO (these site are not really OSO's competition anyway) but you should check out thehulltruth.com or anglersonly.com and the Florida Sportsman Magazine website. Everyone on those sites run outboards.

I've heard nothing but good on these motors. I was thinking of putting one on my fishboat when the time comes. Contact TimG on this board, he used to rep for them.

I had a set on my Intrepid and they were great motors. No Problems. Long Warranty.
I only had the boat for a few months. I Put about 50 hours on them with no trip to the dealer.

We have only run the performance version, the 225HO which makes the same hp as the 250. In my opinion, its the best motor for everything, accept that the biggest one is only around 239 to 247hp depending on who is doing the measuring. If you need more power you must go to the other guys. One other thing, we had the problem of out running the RPMs, they don't have a gear ratio selection to accommadate speeds and reasonable props much over 85mph.
