What was the Cig "Hawk" Hawk power ???
Thats a nice boat and seems priced pretty reasonably
The boat was originally fitted with Hawk 540's in 1987. After some engine performance problems, I discovered that these engines did not have Carillo rods, nor any Callies cranks, much less - no J&E pistons or Crane rockers. A refresh was highly suggested. But, for not much more, I could get new blocks and the internal components I had hoped for. I opted to go to 572 ci instead of the 540 ci that Hawk used.
Cost about 15K each - six yrs ago. Mel (Riggs) said the same motors today would cost over 35K each due to the cost of the bowtie block (Nickel - Silicon) and procuring these same parts!!
