Cigarette Top Gun prop help
Posting for a friend......
Need help with my 38 Top gun t/s with 575sc’s. I have been running 33 lab finished props for a year and the boat has run impeccable. I then caused some rock damage to my props and sent them out to get fixed. While waiting I replaced them with the bravo 33 (not lab finished). The boat still ran great, just lost some top end speed. The following week I had Whipple intercoolers put on the boat. (not whipplechargers) Since I have put the intercoolers on the boat and am still running the non lab’d 33’ props, 65-70% of the time when coming out of the hole, the props are washing out and I have to continue to pull back one throttle and then the other as they both will wash out. Sometimes only one washes, sometimes they both will wash. Many times I have to stop the boat entirely and start again, just to get on plane. Once on plane, the boat runs great! The boat has never had a problem like this until I put the intercoolers on. This is very frustrating and my mechanic seems to think it’s fairly normal for a big boat to do this! Any suggestions would help! Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Re: Cigarette Top Gun prop help
Sounds like the 33's are a re-pitched 34. The 34 has issues with getting on plane.
Call Brett Anderson at BBades (they are an OSO advertiser) and he can tell you what is necessary to get that fixed. The 34 is a odd prop, I had the same problems when I tried a set.
I have a TG TS w/575's too. What to sell your old 33's? Sounds like after the whipples, your labbed 33's will be too small. ??

Re: Cigarette Top Gun prop help
I have a 2002 TG with 575's that have been Teague modified with inter coolers. Now 700 hp. For your same reason I had to go to 34" five blade hearings. The gearings are awesome. Big difference. I'll do 98 MPH.
