Anyone using Satellite HS Internet Service to access OSO?
Considering a move to a location that does not have Cable Modem or DSL access.
I know that prices are all over the place; and upload and download speeds vary greatly.
Is there a service that anyone is having continued success with?
Equipment price?
Install price
Upload Speed?
Download Speed?
Monthly service cost?
Allotted bandwidth?

I have a bunch of customers that are using the Direct Way system. They work very well AS LONG as the installers that set it up know what they are doing. The speeds are slow. Remember every time that you click on a link there is about a 1-2 second delay for the signal to go out and back (that is why T1 or higher lines seem so fast).
If it is your only optioon it is much better then dial up.

I have a cellular Sprint card. It only pulls around 200K tops; and the area I am looking into moving to has spotty and slow cell coverage as well.

Be careful on this. I don't know about how many carriers there are but the one that direct tv offers is total garbage. I did some research on this after a couple of hurricanes knocked out Internet for a few weeks. The reviews were terrible. Good luck

If you have been using Cable or DSL than you are going to hate Satellite service. The download speeds are fine but the lag time is what sucks. Wildblue seems to be the best out of all the satellite providers, but it still is not that great.

Welcome to my world Brian. I would love to stay in this thread and chat but I'm off to the photo section and then on to the vids with my 25-30k dialup.

Check out http://www.hispeedanywhere.com
That's what we finally went to. You can customize your upload and download speeds to meet your needs. Have had absolutely no problems. My brother went to this system too, after telling DirectWay (Hughes net) to shove it. Now he can do net conferencing from his house without getting dropped off.

We run hughes.net satellite at home, have had for over a year. All 3 users in house are happy with it. I really don't notice much difference between my dsl at work.
