Re: I am "officially out" of boating
I sold my boat in spring and haven't looked back yet. I have enough friends with boats and my second job to support my water needs.
I would have to say the gas and the insurance going up every damn year
I don't miss either one.
I'm actually looking to get another muscle car also.

Re: I am "officially out" of boating
I've been out of offshore boating for a couple years. I still have my classic Donzi and I was thinking of getting back into racing or a decent offshore pleasure boat again. I got the itch real bad, but my wife has been thinking of getting a muscle car. I keep thinking it would be so much easier than boating. Ever since Derebery screwed me a few years ago, I have a difficult time handing cash over to some ****tard.
What's the website for the Cobras? Maybe the wife would dig something like that.

I think you will be back. I was going to do a bigger and faster boat, but the wife didn't like the $$. So we compromised and I bought a Z06 instead. I will say that cars are a lot cheaper by comparison. $600 for insurance ! Although $1300 a year in tires will hurt. The cobra looks awsome, should be a lot of fun. Enjoy the new hobby!

Sorry to hear that you are getting out of boating. You have said some really nice things about the motors that I build, especially when I was building for TMP. If there is any thing that I can do for you, just let me know. If you are ever in the Tn. area and need a boat ride, feel free to call. Good luck with the car and hope to see you back in boating soon. Not all of the marine mechanics and engine builders are crooks. Some of us are honest. Thanks, Eddie.

Re: I am "officially out" of boating
I've often thought the same thing.
I guess In actuallity, I've been "out" of boating for almost four years.
I'm still a somewhat regular on this board. Boating is in my blood, my Grandfather, my Father...
I'm not having the money to do it right now - but I'm trying to figure out a way to make it happen.
I'm looking for an older 25-28, single.
I'm NEVER gonna be running the hardware that the big dog's here run. But, it's fun to BS with these guy's, and I learn alot.
I've had the chance to ride with some of the guy's on this board that are now infamous - and it's always been a great experience.
Good Luck with the car thing, and I hope you find what suit's your need's. When I get my cheap older performance boat, you're welcome for a ride anytime - if ya don't mind running in something less than one of the Big Dawgs.

Re: I am "officially out" of boating
I took a long break from boats, close to ten years. Had Corvettes, did houses, got married. After a while those hot summer days and nights, got the urge to go boating. I didn't think I would have come back to boating. I gave away all my spare parts and other stuff. Just got the bug to come back, now its just getting the wife to adjust to it.
Go for a while but... you'll be baa, aack
