Sad i have to put boat away for awhile
Some of you know I moved from VA to West Palm Beach for work. Well I am living in a nice place right on the inland coastal water way. The marina that purchased the water rights infront of our place wants $900 a month for a slip. Dry rac storage anywhere around wants $500-600 a month. I just cannot justify it, I am really bummed I live in paradise and can't afford to go boating. I am really sad,

Will,
I take it your condo/home didn't come with a deeded slip? Sounds like trailering is the way to go, for now. If your insterested, we have a canalfront rental home, (3 bed /2 bath 1700 Sq. Ft, pool, 30' slip, with 10,000 lbs cradle lift) that we are thinking about selling, it's just a little further north, (~ 350 miles to Merritt Island ) than where you live now!
Anyway, I'm afraid it's only going to get worse, especially, since alot of the old marinas are being bought up and turned into condos too! Just less and less boater access in Florida everyday!

Thanks guys, yea I have a trailer, but have been spoiled with having my own lift in VA. It really is sick what they want for boat storage here, I don't see me staying long term here probably 1-2 years at most, then moving to a more affordable spot in FL or another southern state.

Sorry to hear Will. I'm sure a lot of the price has to do with the marinas that blew down during the hurricane. Don't be a stanger, the boyz always have room for an extra person.

Palm Beach is nuts, I got a job offer from a friend down there, great money and benefits, but once you factor cost of living I can either work year round there or 4 months a year here and come out with the same amount of $.
I got used to the high cost when I was in St Thomas, but atleast theres a bit of an excuse when every perishable product is shipped in on commercial jets. I'm hating this cold weather, but man its nice not paying out a thousand dollars a month to rent a third world dump.
