Awsome photos!
Great website too!
I look forward to meeting you.Let me know if you
will be attending the Fall River Ma. Regatta race.
(if Walter can pull it off).
I can provide you with a stable boat ride for the use
of that camera.

So I complied with what I thought was an authorized message from OSO and was not disputing it whatsoever.
When I was finished removing my photos, I sent a confirmation email to Steve that I complied with what was asked of me. As it turns out Steve knew nothing about it until either he received my email or read Berns29scarab's Poll Thread : Should Sharkey Be allowed to Post His Photos?
Steve handled it from there after his post:

Thanks
That's it in a nutshell and I will continue to provide as many photos and information as time allows me.
Thanks again for all of your support.
It sure brought out a new meaning to Thanksgiving....

That is how I do it now.
If someone takes the image from OSO or puts my Image on another's website, yes I would like to be acknowledged that I took the photo.
I have been asked why I don't just put the watermark at the bottom. Simple reason is that I have already had someone chop the watermark off a photo of mine and moved it to where they wanted it, but butchered the picture in the process. Now in that case, no one knows if I did a horrible Photoshop job or if it was the person that owned the website.
Having asked the person nicely not to have done that and to remove it from their site, it was still up there 4 days later. At that point I had to file a copyright infringement notice to the hosting company and they promptly removed it within 24 hours.
It's no different if someone copies an image out of the OSO Gallery. You see some pics posted on other message boards and it has the OSO Logo on it. Which is great! At least they know where the pic was copied from and OSO gets more exposure in the process. Unless of course the webmaster of the other site removes it...
I am getting better with the watermarks and I am trying to not make them so intrusive... It just takes some more time to get used to doing it......

Tim, thanks for clearing that matter up. I had no idea what everyone was talkin about. That's pretty chitty, that anyone would complain about the pics that you share with us. I would not be so kind to them as to hide their identity. If someone wants to open up their trap and complain about the good things that another person is doing, then I think we all have the right to know, who the trouble maker is. Just my opinion, but I'm sure that I'd have a big following on it.
All in all, thanks again for everything that you share with all of us on OSO, and thanks to Steve for the final say so.
Frank
