I have a 94 with twins and am very happy with the boat. Would be a nice step up from where you are right now , Not a real fast boat , in the 60's , but very easy to maintain and a lot of fun. The fuel economy and insurance aren't bad and it is easily trailable.

Rick, Good luck with the sale I hope it works out for you. I agree honesty goes a long way. I looked at several boats before deciding what to purchase, most people just don't take that great of care of their boats.

A friend of mine has a 28 excel (just like a 29) and said he gets beat up out in some 2-4's . Not a real good rough boat from what im told but hopefully wit the extra small block the added weight would help stabilize and cut the chop

Hey guys, I just listed mine yesterday...I am a little unsure whether or not I really want to sell it, but there is no question about the ability of the 29, I've had mine since 2000 and I've used it to pull double skiers in the Catalina Ski Race and we did the race 2 years ago in 1hr 18min, and I have also ran the ocean and lakes...at the lake the boat is like a mega yacht, I never experienced any lake chop the boat couldn't handle.

Anyway, here is the scope link to videos from some Helicopter runs we've done...look at the jump video, and 2004 Jimbo and you can see how the boat runs and handles in the big blue

Happy Hunting :-)

Hey Ken!!! How have you been it's been a long time. I still keep your calling card you gave me in Richmond a few years back on my computer monitor. You should post a pic of yours it is one of my all time favs.

Don't know about the 28 Excel but the 29 Scarab is well built with a solid feel, big stringers, sharp V entry and narrow beam...I believe it is a 7'6" beam. I have spent some time in a 29 (1999) in some rough water and it sliced through real nice.

I am a fan of the 29 Scarab. Have a friend with one that I have been on many times and also ran beside with my boat on Lake Erie. His has the single 502 and runs very good in the sloppy water.

I also had another friend with a 28 Scarab Excell and I like the 29s better.

Hey. Lets just say I'm getting my life back in order. I'm raising both of my boys and trying to get ready for a great year of boating. We will be on the Jammin on James run, with my new avitar, and plan more. Hope to see alot more people that I haven't seen in the past year. On the pics, thanks. I,ll try to dig some new ones up.

The 29 has great lines. It's a shame that Wellcraft abandoned the Scarab line.

I agree...the twin 350s were a good fit for that boat too.
