Thank you for all those that support the Military... I will tell you that being in Iraq and reciving notes, gifts of simple things, and just hearing that people truly care... means the world to us. It really means the world to the guys that are kicking in the doors and doing the things that truly need to be done... They need to be reassured that they are supported and that they are doing the right thing... Killing does not come easy, and weighs heavy on the soul, please tell them thank you when you meet them!!
I am not one of those guys... I am just a Computer engineer... I do try to remind them every day that I appreciate it when I see them comming back.

Great article in the NYT Mag on Bin Laden and the entire history of the problem with one only apparent solution and it is NOT withdrawl from Iraq.
It is obvious that all those calling for withdrawl are a great comfort and encouragement to B.L. and will encourage him to attack the U.S. directly again if we pull out of Iraq. Perhaps another war with Syria will be the excuse to re instate the draft and deploy huge numbers of troops to the entire region, permanently occuping the place like Germany or Japan.

They are already bombing Baghdad Christian churches and torching liquor stores.
If the USA does allow the people of Iraq to have a complete democracy, where majority (Shiites) would rule, the US could end up on the losing end in creation of something completely unwanted. George HW Bush warned of this outcome back in Gulf War. Pulling out of Iraq now would only turn Iraq into another Iran. That's the quagmire we are in. We cannot leave now.
We should never have put ourselves in a situation that helps bin Laden. We should have allowed Saddam to continue to oppress the radical Shiites (The Reagan/George HW Bush/Clinton plan) and put our full force on finding bin Laden and his radicals and destroying their network.
God bless all the innocents caught in this terrible tragedy.
