Check your cable assemble thats mounted on your engine. Both of my past "stuck in foward/reverse" was either that large red plastic cable adaptor (from shifter) broke. Or the smaller black cable adaptor (from drive) which holds the cable in with the 2 set screws.

I've had my clutch "weld"to the gears. I could not move my shifter. It was stuck in forward. I did manage to bounce the shifter enough to hit the nutral safety switch to get the engine started.
If you can move your shifter then it seems like it is in the linkage somewhere.

Thanks for all the info. I'll start simple with the linkage issue, so it will go back to where the work was done. Not hooking things up right seems the most logical explaination since my shifter does move. Thanks for the number Cuda, I wanted to take it to him anyways to have a look thru. There are so many unanswered questions about this boat and I just need some piece of mind. It's a LH drive by the way.

I had the shift linkage snap at the drive once. Sucked that I was in reverse when it happened. Had to pull the drive to fix it but no major rebuild.

I had the thrust washer break on some older weak bravo 1 gears. Replaced them two times before I bought the newer gears. Lucky I didn't explode them. If it's not the cable, I bet it's these washers.

Update: I went ahead and talked to Craig this morning and since he's so close and since I was going to take it to him anyways, I'm just going to haul it over there tomorrow morning. I was going to have him do an inspection because after my purchase "experience" there were a lot of ???'s about the health of the boat's drivetrain. The outdrive was replaced once already (blew out the upper gears) So I just want to be sure about things to begin with. Also, hearing about being stuck in reverse, I think I'll buy a cheap, used RH prop in case that ever happens to me
