I have seen the efects of harsh cleaners on sun pads and seats. The stitching takes a beating. The combination of UV rays and cleaners shortens the life of the thread and it fails. I don't put anything but "Quality H2O" and a magic eraser. I have had a few stubborn spots that yellowed.

a chemist friend told me to NOt ever use a cloride cleaner ( bleach)
vinyl is PVC, (poly vinyl chloride). the bleach ( chloride) reacts and opens the cell structure of the vinyl. it looks very clean at first, but then quickly and continuously gets dingy because dirt gets into the pourous vinyl.
just FYI for anyone using this to clean thier vinyl
a tile layer friend uses wd40 to clean glue/ etc off carpets and everythign else. it took drywall glue right off my bow once. but may not be any better than terpentine
