This is the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Harbor #920-743-3311. Hopefully someone can answer your questions or point you in the right direction.

Bill, how are the water conditions on the Green Bay side? Would my 28' be safe enough?
Hey, this summer we will need to get Jean and Don up on Winne, should be some good times.

Any other time but during the Poker Run would be good. It gets really rough for the under 30 footers. We use to go up to Door County regularly when we had our Formula 272.We have run from Sturgeon Bay to Washington and Rock islands. Your boy's would have a blast on Rock Island. Its a neat place with no motorized vehicles allowed.

Bill, thanks for the update. Hey at least it's another excuse to get a bigger boat.
Is there a pier up at those islands to dock?

HP500efi,
We are planning on the same trip. If you go to Boat US they have charts for Lake Michigan. These show the details of all of the harbors, docks, phone numbers, lodging, food, etc. They seem to be very helpful.
Some actual air photo's are shown as well.
If you plan on going let me know maybe we can get a group together.

Off topic here are some pics from our adventure to sturgeon bay. During the summer, just got them up last night. I think I might even try and make the run next summer.

I would be up for a run also. I've been there a few times and know the water a little. I've been told that the low water is going to cause more problems this year.
Last year the day before the poker run we took a ride up to an old Mining town about 80 miles North of Sturgeon Bay. Fayate(sp) or something like that. Neat town that the state of Mich. has turned into a museum(sp). Also a nice place to go for a day run.
Let me know if you are interested.

I was told they do, but have never stayed there. Our favorite place is Fish Creek. Centrally located, good eating and night life, and the wife likes the shopping. But its a tough place to get into. Its usually full. From Fish Creek its a good days run to Marrinette/Monemonie for Bloddies then to Sturgeon Bay for appetizers then back to Fish Creek for dinner. Another good day is to run up to Rock island for a picnic lunch and then down to Detroit Harbor, Washington island, for dinner and then back to Fish Creek. We enjoy running around up there, only problem is that it's a 3 hour tow to get there.
