wow you have all kinds of options besides just donzi or cig. there's like 5 different models of checkmates that would fit, pachanga 19 (possibly a 22), there is always the scarab sprint, the scarab 1 (21'), and scarab excell (also 21'), scarab 22, welcraft 20' excaliber, 201 Liberator, 206 Formula, 22 formula, a U-19 (four winns I think?), I think VIP made a 20' vindicator? and I think Regal made a 20' Velocity? ....list goes on and on, heck just hit the microboat thread on that other forum for ideas. obviously some are older then others, cheaper, rarer, etc., but to answer your question as to fitting in your garage, I'm sure some of those meet your criteria. I'm not a fan of the newer outlaw or islander of baja (under 23'), all the screws on the hardware are always overtorqued and screws are stripped, and the boat just feels like bare minimum to me. not saying they are built poorly or perform badly, but they always come across as cheap to me. one of those boats alot buy just for the name!

There are alot of under 20' boats here:

Most of these guys are out of Long Island and can give some good imput on the smaller performance boats.

My concerns with the Donzi classics is the ingress/egress to/from the water -- no easy way to get on board, especially when some booze is involved, for the passengers.
As for the cig, the ones i've seen are priced about twice what my budget is, at least... I'm trying to stay at 14-16K, but will do 20k for something really nice.
Thanks!

You would really be better off with a boat without a platform anyway, that will save you another few inches (you can turn the drive hard one way or the other).
I have a 20' Donzi Minx (if you haven't heard of one, think of a short 22 classic). If 20' Cigs are out of your price range, the Minx may not be a bad choice.
