454 mag same as 454 MPI????

Here's another example of somebody calling their engines 454 MPI's. Sure they are 454ci, but they are 7.4MPI's as shown in the pic. They have the weaker/cast internals and 310hp.

Damn, Griff, thanks for the research. This boat has 454 mags. Is it typical for someone to upgrade these or is it more economical to sell the mags and buy complete motors?
