Here is a couple of questions that REALLY annoy me ! Actually my own father is guilty of asking me them sometimes. He probably just does it on purpose.
When I start out the day on the water I fire the boat up and let it warm up well dry exhaust and a .700 lift solid roller has a pretty snotty idle well people will ask "is that a FULL race cam ? "
What the hell is a full race cam ?!
Another one is " is that a full race engine?"
I feel like saying "no I couldn't afford the full race version so I got the quarter race version !"
I understand that not everyone is a gearhead but there are ways to ask questions without making yourself sound completely ignorant.

the idiots on the dock tell me "its too loud"
I say " huh.. what I can't hear you".. and give it a few revs and they can't hear either
Or the guy you just blow off going down the lake.. he follows me back and says " how fast is that"
I said.. " faster then you"

Being that I launch out of NEWPORT DUNES only... my boat is rarely noticed... and mostly all I ever here.... is
"My god! What year is that thing?!?"
Its a '78 you ass...
and they reply... yea, when I was a kid, I always wanted that model, it had just came out but I couldnt afford it...
as they walk back and hop on their 500,000 boat...
God I hate newport sometimes... bunch of spoiled little f ckers.

The ones that bug me are people that know me who always ask "did you get your boat fixed yet?" they don't understand that when I say I've got work to do on the boat it is ussually something to try and make it work better, it's not broken.
I'm always conservative on speed when someone asks how fast the boat will go(never know if they know my insurance agent )
but every once in a while someone will tell me how much faster my boat should be and then tell me about their buddies boat that is a bunch faster than mine then they describe it or say the persons name and it's a boat that I know and can whoop on no problem. It's always good for a laugh.
