I have a TomTom. I really like it. Easy to customize (got my boat on the splash screen), and works great. They're building so much here in FL, that the map that came on it was missing a lot of roads. After speaking to them, they gave me a free update which improved things quite a bit. Check out http://www.tomtomforums.com/ for the real lo down.

Who is your cellular carrier? I think everyone has a service like this now. For $9.99 a month from Verizon, thier Navigator is everything and then some that a Tom-Tom is, and it's already in your pocket because it's in your phone.

Garmin software updates are an ordeal for anyone
who has a life and other, better things to do.
If Tom Tom has free updates buy that.
I bought a $200 Lowrance since that whole GPS is just
a little more than Garmin software. At that price I'll buy
a new GPS every couple of years for updates just to avoid
the Garmin update ordeal.
No need to debate this subject with me as I own more
Garmins than anyone and have owned them longer and
used them for more things (automotive, topographic, marine).
Lowrance is my next prime supplier.
Lowrance topo and marine maps are way better than
Garmin too.
