My dad has a 15 foot Chrysler bow rider in his garage. It has a 40 hp Chrysler outboard; hasn't been started in probably 25 years. I explored most of Lake St Clair on it, have lots of good memories.

Gas was 20 cents a gallon back then.

I might have to resurrect it for next summer. I don't think there will be enough water in the lake to use my Formula.

After that, the one's sold to Bayliner had the Bayliner name on the outboard.

I learned to water ski behind a 15' chrysler tri hull with a 75 chrysler outboard.
I can remember the late 70's gas was 60 some odd cents per gallon.
Remember odd and even gas days? There were some old guys saying that gas will soon be a dollar a gallon and no one will use there boats any more.

Ok you guys hae stated that in 1967 it was .09 cents a gallon and in the 80's it was 60 cents. I can remember when I graduated high school it was 89 cents.

It just blows my mind to think that in 30 YEARS gas went from .09 to .89 and in the last 14 years it has gone from 89 cents to $3.50.

WTF

I had one of those Lonestars. It was a big ass 16 footer, mine had a 65 Merc, as I recall. I traded a 66 Mustang for it, never drove the boat, and sold it to my cousin.
