Default Outboard guy's gota ?

How good or bad are the 05 Suzuki 250 4 strokes ?

I am looking at aboat that has them but I don't know much about them.

I am sure the Merc's are the best but I am a Suzuki and Yamaha dealer for Motorcycle's and ATV's so I can get parts at cost, but I dont want to be buying a lot of parts if you know what I mean.

Actually a lot of people would argue that Evenrudes are now the best.

I have a buddy that has a suzuki 4 stroke and he loves it.

I would say that you can't go wrong with any of the newer motors from any of the manufacturers, yes for a performance boat the Mercury's have better high performance gearcases but for any boat that a standard gearcase is good on, you probably can't go wrong with any new motor. No matter which manufacturer you could end up with a lemon, but I don't think that any manufacturer is heads above the other anymore.

Propping one can be challenging.....check out the gear ratio. Limited propellers for this motor.

We did some testing with Suzuki Canada and there 250 SS motor.

The motor was very good in all ways except as mentioned, the gear ratio is a challenge if your going real fast.
