Hey 266ltd. You are going to have a great time in the Bay. I live on the bay in Baltimore, MD. I am 20 mins from, Jelly Fish Jouls, Red Eyes, The harbor and all the other great places. You have to go to Fairlee Creek ( Jelly Fish Jouls ) and you have to make it to Rock Hall for the best damn crabs this side of the missisippi!! And you have to make it to Red Eyes on Sunday for the best party on the water!!! If you can make it try to go to the Riverwatch, that is in Middle River, their sunday deck parties are crazy also. You need more then one weekend to try all our great spots!! Everything is within a 20 min cruise or less. The water is great!! Just watch out for CRAB POTS!! I have never hit a shallow area in the 20 years I have been on the bay!! Just hammer down and go!

If you are going to be near Chestertown, you are going to be minutes from a great little spot known as Lloyds Creek. A narrow inlet (with sometimes swift current) leads into a NICE protected area.
It can get kind of crowded on the weekends, we try to make it there by around 11 AM or pretty much decide on not going.
There are a few other nice beach areas on the Sassafras, as far as I am concerned, it is one of the nicest rivers just about anywhere.

I'll throw in www.cbpba.com we OWN that area when it comes to performance (actually any type) boating. A lot of the comments were good ones. I would not recommend Great Oaks to stay. It really is in the middle of nowhere and a week would kill ya. Kent Island at Mears Point (same group that runs Great Oaks and the home of Red Eyes) is probably the most centrally located. From there you can day trip all the way up to Nauti Goose or down to Solomons Island and there are tons of things to do and see. There are 4 hotels withing walking distance of Mears Point and by car you are about 10 minutes from all kinds of shopping, etc. You will not have that at Great Oak. An added benefit would be crawling home from Red Eyes on Sunday Evening, but the bad news is last year the Bikini Contests started on Fathers Day so you might be out of luck there. I'm also pretty sure the OPA Ocean City race is the weekend you will be here so you could plan a run by car on Sunday to the beach (about 80 miles all highway from Kent Island.) Come on over to our website and sign up (free) and you will be able to get all kinds of hookups and info and we have an event of some kind virtually every weekend. Also feel free to PM me if I can be of any assistance, I'd be glad to help.
