I always thought that a 13' Whaler with the 50 hp a Mercury was the hot-rod Whaler, there where some set-up liker that back in the day (our 13' only had a 40 hp). This Whaler with the twin 300's has this beat by far. I like it.

Keep a very close eye on that fiberglass bracket. It cannot last.

The weight's the same as a smaller motor, and this boat won't ever see offshore.

Maybe if the bow rides high enough it will rock back on the bracket as if its a single step.

We took it out today. Seems to porpoise after 55. 27" prop was too big, would'nt get past 5000 rpm's. Got it up to 68 mph before it spun the rightside hub. Guess we gotta go with the brass hubs.
