We had a problem with mice building nest in Traffic Signal Control boxes and chewing wires. We were told by the Manufacturer's salesman that if you put "Bounce" Fabric Softener Sheets, the same one's you put in a cloth's dryer in the Control box. It will keep mice and rats out because they can't stand the smell of them, must change them monthly, in the case of your car I would change them weekly. Put them in the car an anywhere you think the mice might come into the car, also put them in the garage. It is working so far for us.

I was just about to mention checking the wiring, for some reason mice and squirrels love to chew them apart...i'd use the sticky traps too...they do a great job of catching the little varmints...

In fact, don't get a mouse trap either, you might loose a finger arming it.

It's people with your luck, but without your money, that take a long dive off of an extremely high bridge...

Take care man.

Gino, They say that dryer sheets like bounce or something keep out the little chits and don't smell bad. I think moth balls will make your eyes water!!
