I never planned on doing this project myself hence the cost of LABOR in my question. I am aware that the building is only part of the cost but those numbers are easier to come up with. I was just trying to figure layup costs.

By no means am I an expert. But alot depends on Labor cost and materials. From what I have seen and this was back in 1994 a 26ft cat hull and deck materials and labor was $24,500Today is much more. There is a lot to consider and what location of the country.

Why would any builder will really tell us... the cost... wich cost? the cost of material and labor at really cost price, or the price of a bare hull they build and would sell them (bare) to customer... if they do, we'd know the profit and I'm not sure they would tell us ... I'm not sure I explained all that comprehensively, all this to say cost is relative...

Can you imagine that in 1975 I bought a 38 ft. Bertram Race boat, Hull, Deck engine cover, instrument pannel - $12,500 - race lay up too - so much for inflation !

Right around the same time, in the Kiekhaefer AeroMarine catalog, under "Boat and Accessory Group" is a

39 foot Cigarette boat (wholesale net price) $17,500

On another page is Engine and Accessory Group

KAM Champion Maker 625 HP engine complete with KAM K-drive, complete with power trim. $16,000
