Doing a little investigating around town. The pieces are starting to come together...
This occurred not at the hands of a buyer, or the dealership who owns the boat, it was a third party and I know the fellow.
The charges incurred were BUI and grand theft.
Allegedly this individual considered it a good idea to, shall I say, "borrow" the boat for an evening booze cruise. Luckily no one was hurt.
I also found out that the boat was traveling at considerable speed, near WOT, and they ran the boat clear up and over the seawall at the Albert Whitted Airport (between the St. Pete Pier and The Harborage marina), for those familiar with the area.
The boat ended up a couple hundred feet away from the seawall, perched perfectly upright on it's keel, not leaning even the slightest bit.
Someone I know knows someone who has pictures of the boat resting on dry land from the morning after. I'll try to track them down for you guys.
How's that for a wild ride.

CIGDAZE-
Was that the boat that was involved in the Coast Guard chase after Gasparilla? I know there was a cruiser someone "borrowed" late that afternoon that rammed two LE boats and the Coast Guard chased and even shot at trying to disable..
