I believe it my boat runs high 50's with the same engines and a lot more weight and wind drag. must get 3+ mpg going 50!

Are you guys forgetting about the big Magnum's with diesel out there

Mine has 1200hp MTU'S with #12 Arneson surface drives swinging 32"- 6 bladed S & S props. cruises at about 50. Not bad for a boat that weigh's 56k lbs

MTU'S were an upgrade option on the Magnum's back then. I contacted Magnum when I got the boat and they sent me the original build sheet, pictures and spec on the boat.

I have built a couple of spor boats with Diesels both are running Cummins engines the 48 has the 6.7 liter 550HP with the Trimax drive and runs in the low 80s also built a 43 with 8.3 liter 600HP for a military test boat that runs in the low 70s weighing in at around 20k lbs. also with the Trimax Drive.[ATTACH=CONFIG]550235[/ATTACH] You can go on the Team Scarab website Larry has a bunch of pictures on there
