crossing the borders: CAN PASS and what else?
I crossed the border many times in my boat. But I know there is a way to do it faster than stopping at border, wait an hour ( or 2 when busy), then go.
I know a word like CAN PASS... I think it is used to come back in canada without stopping.
What do I need to go TO u.s without stopping? I know there is something to do it, just don't know what it is...
Thanks!

There is a system at the airports called Nexus. It allows for pre-screened Canadian - US citizens to cross the border with a quick retinal scan. Beats standing in the Customs and Immigration lines.
Here is an older press release (2002). It is active at many more crossings now.

Jeff, here is the link to NEXUS. It works coming and going. There is a $50.00 app fee and it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get approval. You also have to go for an interview. My application is in now and I am waiting.
