I spent less than a grand last summer since I spent most of it waiting for parts for the new motor which I blew to much money on.

KC beat me to it. When your engine cuts your season very short, you save lots on gas!

Take make things worse, here are some misc facts for everyone:

$2500 invested at the beginning of each boating season, for 20 years at 7% return would accumulate to $109,663 at the end of year 20.

$3000 would accumulate to $131,595

$4000 would accumulate to $175,461

Don't tell the wife that!!!

Milord...you wouldn't have $175k with the current exchange rate It would be more like $112K for the Canadians!!

96 Vyper - Screw the saving thing, you don't get more toys by saving Anyways, after taxes and inflation your numbers would be materially smaller. I did like your idea about using the data on the wife though.

I don't even like to think about those things. When people ask if boating is expensive,,, I tell them it holds 100 gallons, and that's not even two full dyas a fuel and watch there jaws drop,,,, damn land lubbers just don't get it !!! The Baja is 4 years old with 550 hours on it, gas was over $2.00 here for some time,,,, I honestly don't even want to know !!!!!
