****, anybody wanna buy a boat??
No, really, how many of us really wants to know, and what the &*@#! would any of us do differently once we did know?? Get a smaller boat? Drive slower?? Cut back on the number of trips out?? Donnnnn't thee--nk sooooo.....
I just figured out that I spend a minimum of $3,400 a year on gas for just me in my cars/truck. Thats 30,000 miles a year at $1.70 for high test and 15mpg. Add the wifes $2,000 a year for a total of $5,400, now all of a sudden who gives a *&$## about another $1,000 for boating???? Hell, sounds like I need to burn another $2,400 in the boat just to even things up!......Then if I let the wife buy gas for the boat that would be another $2,000..... Guess I better splash tomorrow and get started!!!
But seriously, I drive fun stuff and enjoy every minute of it, so I've never really thought twice about it till now (thanks alot), and........... I won't spend another minute on it again.
Fun costs money - simple as that..............
Shhhhhh, listen, can you hear them beggin' for a drink??

Re: How much do you spend in GAS per season
Here's how I look at it. At the end of the season I compare my bar bills to my gas bills. If the gas bill is greater...then I had a good boating season...nothing broke. If the bar bill is larger..well you know the rest.

This season was ...well lets see...twice as expensive as last year on the gas bill!!!

Re: How much do you spend in GAS per season
Much rather spend money on a bar bill... 36 spectre DIESELS 90 mph 12-14 gals per hour @ $1.60 you can do a lot of boating without spending a lot on fuel .. also VERY RELIABLE.. average 150 hours a year @ 14 gals per hour= 2100 gals @ 1.60 = $3,360 not bad for a year of boating......
