BTW - what WTF is up with Whiskey Island. I was up there last Aug for the Burning River Fest and we were marveling at the old Coast Guard HQ out there and how great a location it would be for a bar/restaurant/multi-use facility...
Do one of the Jacobs still own that property? What a waste.

The Flats was unbelievable in the late 80's and early 90's. Nobody went anywhere else during the summer. Once the drinking age was raised and the MADD people went into overdrive, the nightclub scene everywhere tanked.
Back then, Sohio (now BP) sponsored an event called Riverfest. it was a week-long party. It was Cleveland's Mardi Gras. An unimaginable number of people descended on the Flats for that week.
