Thanks for posting this as a separate thread...
As I was researching BOTH these companies several years ago, I came accross their policy about salvage vs. tow and both have almost identical definitions of tow vs. salvage.
It really depends upon the person (s) that comes out to your aide, and if you are sharp enough to ask the simple question, tow vs. salvage, if salvage, just say no thanks and call a buddy.
The trouble I have with both of these companies is the fact that they may tell you it is tow, even sign a sheet you have ready on hand saying it is a tow, and then later file for salvage, what's to stop them from that?
If you build a product, put disclaimers all over it about what not to do with it, and some Darwin Award finalist does it anyway, there will always be an ambulance chaser to take up the case and put you out of business.
