Would you put a 9'6" wide boat in a 10' slip?

i'm not sure if I'd put one that wide in that narrow of a slip...we have a 280 DA which is 9'6" in a 12' slip withput a lift and it's no problem, my nor-tech is 10'9" in a 12' with a hydro-hoist (poly-lift) and that's tight enough but doable..three inches per side doesn't give you much room to spare....

I know we're splitting hairs here, but I guess tblr is too. That 3" per side doesn't leave anything for error, or weather.

I think im going to do a 280 dancer........9'5" That extra inch should do it. I just dont see how getting a boat 1ft narrower and easier to slip will outweigh a wider bigger boat that I will just have to be careful with and guide in by hand. That extra foot of width goes a long way in a cruiser. Worst case, I wont back in....ill pull fwd.

I have to agree with you, the width in a cruiser is not only gonna make a comfortable ride, but also much better for entertaining (that's what a cruiser is for, right??).
Heh, this coming from a guy with a 24/7.
Who needs kidneys anyway...
