If the bilge pumps kick on frequently...wouldn't you go look and see why?
I noticed every hour or so mine pumped for a minute...turned out there was water trickling though were the cable indicators for the K-planes came through the transom, a little dab of silicone and done.

I was 150 in 1979. I am only up to 245. That's less than 100 pounds per 30 years. I shouldn't hit 340 until 2038.

IIf you asssume that you can put six 150# people on the boat and not sink it. That would be the equivalent of about 128 gal of water in the bildge. That would be alot of splashing through the vents and still not enough to sink it.

Am I missing something here?

Must be your friends in Florida weighing in around 150lbs. No way you're finding 6 friends in the midwest less than 225lbs unless they are young women and/or children. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

i bet it all adds up to maybe a leaking gimble boot, bilge pumps not working, and a lack of owner attention leads to the sinking, i know a friend that had a 37 active thunder sink cause of a storm and bad pumps

and a Bilge alarm for the dash. It's nice to know when you are actually sinking...

Just need better bilge pumps with a fresh backup battery is all... direct wired to the pump/alarm..
