Depends on the carrier, she had a Nextel. If you remember Nextel had that 'where you at?', where you could see your friends from your phone or the internet. I think there was another way awhile back to track Nextel phones too.
If that phone was on Att could find it very easily. Now doing it without a subpoena, not sure if they would or not. At the very least call up customer service, tell them you misplaced your phone and see if they'll try to find it for you, it can't hurt. Just don't let them cut off service if you are still trying to locate it. I'm not sure why anybody would keep a stolen cell phone tho, once they are reported stolen the ESN should be tagged to keep from being re-activated.

I would think they dont want to be liable if they were to give JPD the coordinates. What happens when he finds the thief and does bodily harm to them, or worse ? They could be drawn into a lawsuit by the thief and/or his family.

is there any way possible to track my Iphone 3g or palm centro on somebody legal or not I dont give a damn I want a body in my hands for the effen tx police dont give a chit since the truck was recovered. truck was stollen and sideswiped a lady in her car as they left parking lot stripped all audio gear out along with all phones and business comp with all my clients addresses and numbers on them. SAVE YOU FINGER TIME IF YOUR GONNA LECTURE ME ABOUT GOING MYSELF FOR MY CREW AND I ARE FN PISSED ATTORNEY ON RETAINER FOR I DONT GIVE A **** ABOUT HOW WRONG IT IS.
Dont know about the capabilities of tracking where you are, but here in Fort Worth, Texas...they can do the old triangular thing with 3 cell towers and locate your ass to +/- 10 feet. You will need an attorney that knows what he or she is doing to get the ball rolling...then it is a waiting game for the punks to use the equipment and then its all over. You will have a body...good luck.

Phone companies don't care and why would they help you knowing that you now have to buy new phones from them.
It would be a long shot but call your number and like with anything else money $$ talks with these punks.
Depending on how important those numbers are it might be worth a try.
Sad the world is the way it is today.
Good luck.

well the phones are still on holding out for it to runn just cut a lot of the service down. att uses sim cards so pull one out and stick another in. Just went to Verizon to get a new phone set up been with att for 19yrs and get the run around and having hell to cancel he iphone service for a contract so will y myself out. Verision has the program called chaparone can track from any computer to the T if phone is on.
As for ATT I wouldn't hold them responsable, for That guy wont talk.

I would think its for legal reasons, just like in this case here.
