The height difference between the 174 and the 250 isn't very much. If you can find a 250 for the right price I would go that way. I purchased my 177 Weiand from a member. I paid only $700 with the intake and extra pulleys. Keep you eyes open , deals like that don't last long. If it in the budget I would go with a Wipple. You will be glad you did. Make sure that you have the proper fuel delivery. I had a problem with my pump, it was only pushing 2 psi, I didn't know this and I smoked the motor in less than a hour I would make sure you have a fuel pressure gauge. I am having the engine rebuilt and it should be dynode in this week. We are expecting to see some where in the 575 hp range. You will need the V6 module to make it run right and the crossover is a good Idea. Depending on what exhaust you have you could probably get away with just replacing the cast risers with stainless ones but a set of after market manifolds would be better. I personally don't like the MSD , stick with the factory ignition it will work fine. I have had problems with MSD's in the past and wont use them in a boat. But I do have two MSD 6 marine boxes and revlimiters for sale if you are interested. B&M has a 6 page pamphlet that has there recommended way to set up a marine engine for a blower application . I have the pamphlet scanned in my computer and I can email it to any one if they like. Its very informative.

Now, to just sink this and get the Sonic.... hmmm.....
