82? Maybe in salt water with 6" ripples with 5 ounces of gas, no gear and the 105 lb driver just having taken a dump.
76-80 is "real speed" when you have enough gas to go somewhere and some coolers, etc. We get about 76 with a full load of 4-5 folks and two full coolers, but 78 with less people (3 and one smaller cooler). Although no GPS with me the one day, I'd guess almost 81 on a great day under perfect conditions just my wife and I and a tad lighter on fuel than I normally run. I most of the time have more than 1/2 tank in the boat and closer to 3/4. Ran out once...........................................onc e.

I was just curious .
I have a friend (maybe ) that is looking for at boats 32,35 fountains.
He is one of those guys that knows everything but has nothing. Well a truck and a fast snowmobile , well he wants to beat me on the water. I'm running 80 (gps) two people and a 1/2 tank of gas.
He is trying to tell me that a 35 lighting runs 82 with 502's so a 32 should run 90 ! Well i told him he is smoking crack !
I figured that a 32 would run around 80.

32fever hit it nuts on!
My good friend and neighbor has a 2000 with the 415 502's- he sees the same numbers GPS as 32Fever mentioned. Another friend has a ' 93 35' lightning with the SC525's, just barely faster, not sure if the 35 has steps or not. All this is at 1120 ft of elevation, fresh water.

Hey chuck, My friend Jonny, that I always run with has a 99 32 w/502 mags, we run all the time, he gets 78-80 all the time, and has seen just over 81 on gps as a best. He, like all boat owners, would sell it if someone was looking for a clean 32 fountian.

I saw an episode of Powerboat Television when they tested a 35' Fever. Reggie was driving the boat himself. The boat had HP500's. I remember it well because only the way he can say it in his native slang "Lookie there. 90 Miles per hour, Lookie there, lookie there!"
