It's just getting a little old. Too much hype...let the boats get thier reputation from performance, fit and finish, resale value and happy customers. Not sure how other people feel, but having a few people always cramming how great active thunders are down our throats gets old. There are no ill feelings on my part about any of it as I find it entertaining, but (IMHO) the internet can backfire on people in the boat industry when used in the wrong way. Just my $.02.
BUT.......Different strokes for different folks makes the world an interesting place!![Smilie](/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I agree about too much hype as well as backfiring.
I was really excited to have an opportunity to buy an AT when I was shopping 38' boats. I too heard how great they were on OSO.
The boat I was looking at ended up being DockmanRich's boat. I sea trialed the boat in some snotty water - the winds were 20 to 25 knots that day.. In "MY" opinion (and the opinions of other OSO/HRPA members), it did not live up to what I had read on OSO. Plus there were some other issues that made me uncomfortable.
From what I read on OSO; I was expecting impeccable build quality and a smooth solid ride in the rough.
I am in no way bashing AT. I think AT makes a beautiful boat and I too would be proud if I owned one.

Next time one pops up just remember that there is PLENTY OF TIME to check it over once you put down a deposit. I'm still kind of bewildered as to how I got there first.

Don't jenks the boat man........ especially in this wheather. I think my transport time just went from 3-4 days to 4-6 thanks to mother nature.

Bosco = As far as the dig about composite manufacturing, Powerplay has been out in the forefront. All the boats are vaccum bagged core of an inch in thickness. They use pure vinylester resin, and the most advanced Knytex nit laminants. All boats spend 2 weeks while being molded. 160 man hours go into bonding the components together as one piece prior to rigging.
I'm no expert in fiberglass boat constrution, so my question is, what does all this really mean in comparison to other boats?

PowerPlays are better than Apaches, OuterLimits, Cigarette's and Nor-Techs.
