Factory II SBI Fountain 108 Mph?!
Just heard that Reggie Fountain and Jason Priestley tested the new factory II canopied Fountain that they are going to race in Miami and it ran 108 MPH? Sounds like Joey Griffin did a little magic with Reggie's stock 500 EFI! Why is it that the SBI factory II boats are 10 MPH faster than any APBA factory II boat?

C'mon guys!...obviously it's the aero/hydra-dynamics of that super-slick Fountain hull..combined with the skill of a Jason Priestley behind the wheel & Reg on the sticks!!.... ...hell! I tried!!

I'd like to see merc come in, and drop off two untouched, factory fresh, hp500efi's, drop em in, and then let them take a run, and then see the speeds, if it was still 108, cudo's to them...

Please let me know if I am wrong. Doesn't SBI allow you to run your own engine (not just the HP500) al long as it does not produce over 500 HP at the prop shaft dyno. And if so don't that mean they have an advantage over the HP500 because the HP500's are only rated at 485hp to begin with. And if they allow you to build your own engine with up to 500hp then wouldn't they build a real tork monster that would well exceed the tork of the HP500. Or does SBI restrict the amount of tork a motor can have???? And also if they rate HP at the prop shaft where do they rate the horse power for the HP500. If the HP500 was rated before the out drive then these other motors would have a even bigger advantage since the Horse power rating already included the power loss it took to spin the drive.
Or am I completely wrong and SBI factory classes have to run the HP500.
