Diff between 3/4 staggers vs full stagg on 38 Fountain
Hey guys
Anyone have any experience with these two different setups? I am looking at a 2004 38 Fountain with 3/4 staggered 575sc. I was looking for some input on handleing and ride of this boat vs a side by side set up and a full staggered fountain. Any help would be appreciated.

Buddy of mine has a 2005 semi stag with 525's. The boat rides very well with a small/slight tail behind it. Bay is a little tight, but you can still get what you need done. Its for sale BTW. It's Mike Lavorsi's old boat. Let me know I can put you in contact with hi.

I have a 04 38 525 short stagger Fountain, after a bit of work and cash, it achieved the Fountain test result speeds. -1" Imco lowers, Maximus B-Blade props, etc...Etc. The 575's should be much quiicker and faster but, on a moderate 2 to 4 foot chop it is like a 90mph buss.

it is a half stagger. if its done up boat should run close to 110. i dialed a couple in. one of them had 575's with a pulley and a remap with shorties and select props and it ran 109.3. handled very well, depending on water planing was a little ruff but all else was fine. also wich lowers makes a difference as for water pressure depending on the original x- dimension. so do your home work. if need be shoot me an email.
good luck, Bo

I found out today that the short staggered boats actually moves the drives about 10-12 inches closer together.
