two mild motors will be happier than one big motor and if something goes wrong you still have one to get you home. I was out on the lake earlier this evening... typical 2~4 lumpy, the problem is the wave spacing and the 5 footer with the big hole after it. Its not the 2 or 3's its this damn lake that makes every 5th wave a big hole or twice as big as everything else. In a newer light 25 footer tonight, you would have been cringing, hoping not to break anything, cold, wet and watching your cooler get airborn. An older heavy 30~35 footer with a couple 454's~496' and you would have had a chit eating grin on your face.

If you step up to the 28' range, your options increase a lot, but you most likely have to increase your budget 5-10k for something decent. In the 28' range, I would recommend Pantera(I had one), Active Thunder, Powerplay, 29 Fountain (single engine), Checkmate, Powerquest, Sonic and Sunsation.

I think a 29 Fountain with twins is way to a$$ heavy. Twins really do not use more fuel depending on what you have. I get better mileage at cruise speeds in my 32AT than I did in my 28 Pantera with a 525SC. Maintenance cost do double though.

The 28 has twin SBC option.

Both have good cabin room.

The 28 ZX had twin sbc's. A good choice as well.

Your kidding me right? Have you ever painted a boat before? Just in supplies alone? So anyone who pays 20 or 30K for a paint job is all BS. Doesnt seem like a lot of boat for under 30? Find me a boat over 30ft. twin 502's runs 80's with nice paint doesnt have to be custome on a trailer thats newer then 2000 for under 30 Come on get off the crack

Mitcher T Painted my whole boat for way less than 12K ,... it's a 31 Cat, & IMO looks kick ass, re read what I typed, I said your boat SEEMS like allot of boat for the money, so I guess you can't read or spell very well

berfbong, I believe this boat would handle the Erie chop much better than a 25' or 27' Haha...oops I mean Baja. Good price on it too.

Sick Stinger, I love the theme you went with on the paint. Pretty cool for the poker runs. Good name for the boat as well. Did you design them? You should bring it down to Jammin with OCD in July.
