Ruben,
Wouldn't it just be alot easier having sealed engines and after every race check the first, second and third place finishers for
compression, cubic inches, rev limiters. By a neutral party that
has nothing to gain by the outcome? JUST AN IDEA!

When you are not running a Fountian the way Reggie builds it ; then you
must be cheating. I thought APBA changed the rules and lowered "X" spec's
to slow the Fountians down. I think if the other company's and there driver's
spent the time on making there boats go fast with 500 hp; instead of crying
about speed or skill of the teams the races would more fun

teardown em down, build 'em up
G-man...
easier? yea.
interesting? no.
Coming from an age where
most speed equipment had to be BUILT,
and not BOUGHT,
and ENJOYING the ART
of actually CREATING HORSEPOWER and SPEED,
I find the whole
LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD
SO MY CHECKBOOK CAN MAKE ME COMPETITIVE
idea to be REDICULOUS.

HERE'S AN IDEA...
Let's start on say, thursday...
the motors and drives will be assembled by the riding crew
from the shortblock up, gimbal in the boat.
No power tools. Maybe one helper to lift,
helper must wear a ball gag and cannot pick up a wrench.
Add the assembly time to the race time.
yea...impractical, but it'd be funny as hell to watch.
Sortofa cross between Offshore and Junkyard wars.

Does APBA or SBI allow you to run the Stellings box in F2 class?
If so, I have a shaft dyno which will work. It takes measurements of crank HP and TQ while driving. The 500HP signal could go to a rev limiter or kill switch to limit HP at that level.
C Spray has it right but why not go further and build a motor with:
3500rpm: 750 ft-lb TQ = 500HP
4000rpm: 656 ft-lb TQ = 500HP
4500rpm: 583 ft-lb TQ = 500HP
5000rpm: 525 ft-lb TQ = 500HP
5400rpm: 486 ft-lb TQ = 500 HP
It woould accelerate like mad out of the truns. TQ and area under the curve.

Eric, are you being sarcastic when you say an F-2 is 180,000, and a svlt is 250,000? You and i both know that is not true. Formula qouted us a new F-2 boat for close to 250,000. A competitve F-2 boat will go for 250,000+, and that is a leainent number. If you can show me a svlt for 250,00 and what i want to see even more is a F-2 for 180,000, then i will be open and willing to see them, but until then, i dont beleive it.
