Had boat out yesterday
I took the boat out with one of the new XR conversions that my friend is building for us. He wanted to put some time on one and then take it apart to make sure everything was okay.
Well we took the boat out in some pretty rough conditions (probably solid 3 fters) and drove around pretty easy (under 4000rpms) for about 45 minutes. Then I started to step up the speeds. Just after 4000, those straight cut gears sure make some noise ! I took it up to 79.2 GPS , kind of fun in those waves ! This drive also had a nose cone on it, I don't know if it help or not.
Well we took the drive apart and everthing looks good, gears have a nice pattern on them. there was a slight water leak but that is it.
Hopefully the weather changes because it is raining now.
