I think it has the potential to be a great product. Closed cooling,joystick technology for docking....the articles I read about this outboard were impressive.

From smart people come smart products. These guys have been there and done that, smart people.

hell even my yanmars started out life as toyota diesels used in landcruisers, obviously yanmar changed everything except the long block but they are based on automotive engines.

Where did Merc get its motors if not from the auto side?? The 5.7, 454, 8.2 motors were all in cars first right?

your about $ 32 k to high on the price for 4 xs300's
and about the same $ 30 k to high on the 525's .
just a thought ,
but tell you the truth $ 30k isn't that much money to these guy's that are buying this type of power , they probably don't even ask " how much "
