Hey Dave,
I live in So Fla now, but I grew up in Lake Placid and on Lake Champlain. It is the most beautiful place or lake you will ever see!
My parents still live there on the lake and have a boat. This time of the year the water is still very cold. From what I have seen, there is not alot of high performance boats on that lake. There is alot of nice boats, but not the kind of boats us OSO people are used too!! Aka, Lots of Snail Boats... LOL.
Where are you staying?? The VT side or NY? Burlington VT. is a blast, great waterfront and music. If you are on the NY side, Montreal Can, Is a blast. I used to model there. Its only an hour away.
It is a shame there is not alot of HP Boats up there, because it would be one hell of a race or poker run!! The scenery and mountains are breathtaking. I know the area very well and am more than happy to help you out.
BG XO
PS. Bring warm clothes, the weather is very unpredictible.
