Lyall Turbosonics Caps
I bought the caps amonth ago. Orderd the chrome red ones, three of them at 14 bucks apiece. Just took my boat in some sloppy water last weekend and all three leaked. I am majorly pissed.
To their defense they do send you a note telling you what else you can do to keep the pumps from leaking. I didnt do any thing besides put the new caps on. So maybe the caps werent leaking in the first place.
Good luck,
Ron

I had a leaky one out of four I have, and Lu took a look and it didn't have the rubber O-ring on it. I never noticed that the ring wasn't there, and I think he said that he had a problem of some shipping out without the O-ring. I sent him and email to address this thread.....hopefully he'll respond....if not, he's just the poodle that we know him to be.

IF they leak call me the manufacturer!
I have noticed that some of you clam our trim pump caps leak. Please check for these two reasons.
1. Make sure the o-ring is in the cap , between the thread area at the top of the cap. It is black and you can see it once you remove the cap.
2. For a period of time (were not sure how long) Mercury drilled a small hole in the threads on the white plastic tank where the cap threads on to get the unit to vent. This will cause a leak.
Please call us at 949-713-7051and we will fax you a Product Information Bulletin on how to handle it.
