Just curious , Why does he always use the engines with forward exhaust ? Wouldn't it be more user friendly to have rear mounted exhaust ? You know , Keep the flames behind the boat !!

Boot, the Lycoming engines have the output shaft on the cold end so since he close coupled the engine to the drive input shaft, the engine goes in backwards. The GE engines are the opposite and would be preferable, but they are longer, yet with a smaller diameter. It seems more people work on Lycomings. Start thinking about redoing your boat.
