Alan, thanks for sharing! How many man hours are you estimating to complete all of the work?

Good luck with the project. Can't wait to see it done and the final numbers.

What's the ” rough” if any budget you target for this work minus boat?

Just curious and btw love the 32 thunder platform.

At the risk of spending more of the owner's money, might I suggest ditching the current steering for IMCO's center-mounted steering? Would really clean up the transom.

Keep the pics coming!

More, more, more... I have a '97 Baja that I would be interested in doing a similar project to. Would be interested in getting a PM from you guys to get a rough estimate on the cost of this project.

I think this is the best way to justify the future price tag of this boat. A potential buyer really needs to understand exactly what is done and see the quality of the work for themselves.

This thread reminds me of a thread on a car detailing website. The owner of the shop is an engineer by trade, but owns a business that mainly details, but can also refurbish high end cars.

Here's his latest thread. It's worth a read if you're into Porsche or other classic cars.

Thanks for all of the kind comments. We are unsure at this point what the total hours or cost will be as the project keeps changing and more items added. Imagine a brand new boat coming out of a mold, that's almost what we are dealing with. Aside from transom holes, cleat holes, mounting holes we are starting fresh! The boat will look great and look like a 2012 when done. The trailer is also coming along nicely and the 1995 MYCO trailer will be converted to look like a 2012.
